The Wolves
“Wolves can be very secretive. They’re pack animals, and they keep close to the pack.”
~LISHKA
Origin of the Wolves
WHEN THE WORLD WAS NEW, thirteen wolves were created from the energy of the earth and moon. They became shape shifters, able to change at will between human and wolf. They grew in number and formed thirteen packs, named for each original Alpha’s identifying feature. Together, the pack territories create Uru, the land of wolves.
The Wolf Change
“The first change, without fail, brings agony and sweetness all at once. Bones horrifically break to lengthen deliciously into strong inverted hindlegs. A deep ache erupts as the jaw elongates to fill with teeth sharp enough to tear through bone. Ears stretch and rotate upward to detect the full melody of the beckoning night. The change brings pure ecstasy, the manifestation of the full being, drawing inner wolf to outer flesh.”

The Ballad of the Wolves
Below dark boughs
’Neath swords of pine
Through fern and rock
Past curling vine
The blessed light
Brings bones to bend
Paws tread the earth
Where daylight ends
Howl to the sky
Fur tipped with stars
Breath knows no strain
Run fast and far
The lands of wolves
Are far and wide
The night is young
The moon is wild
